Baby Mila

Sneak Peek: Baby Mila Session

Here at JHillis Photography, we loves babies! Their little feet, little smiles… It can make any day better! You can already tell that Mila has her daddy wrapped around her finger. But, I don’t think he minds it one bit.

It was a pleasure so capture these moments between Dad and Daughter. I’m sure there will be many more of these picture perfect moments to come!

Miss Olivia Ann

Sneak Peek: Miss Olivia Ann: Newborn – Three Months

We welcomed a princess into our lives on November 10, 2018, 1:17am. 8 pounds, 9 ounces. Our world will never be the same.

I honestly can’t tell you how long I’ve prayed/wished for a little girl. I tell people that my little brother was supposed to be a little girl. So roughly since 1997… no joke… it’s been a long time!

These last three months have been busy and we’ve done our best to capture monthly pictures. To be honest, sometimes we do them a week late. She is the happiest baby I’ve seen. She loves to be held (but who doesn’t), she loves being in her bedroom, she likes to play with her bottle when she should be eating, and she loves bananas.

Let’s talk about Joel for a second. He is the BEST big brother! He is so patient with her. He always gets the biggest smiles from Olivia. He loves her so much and she loves him right back.

This babydoll is just what my heart needed. We are the Hillis party of four & I hope no more!

The Mendoza Family: Eliana Turns ONE

Sneak Peek: The Mendoza Family: Eliana Turns ONE

The last time we saw this precious family was when Eliana was born, and it’s already been a year! She has a calm demeanor and will always give you the biggest smile.

The Mendoza family is a fun session because Liam has his own expectations of how the photoshoot should go. He is the boss when it comes to what is good or not. He always jumps at a chance to get behind his family and stage a picture. And we just have to foster that creativity and encourage it sometimes.

We are wishing Elaina a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and can’t wait to see this family again!

Mr. & Mrs. Loven

Sneak Peek: Mr. & Mrs. Loven

JHillis Photography had the great honor and joy to take part in Dillon and Lila’s special day. It was extra special for me since it was my little cousin. She is a grown woman and I’m having trouble coming to terms with that!

Dillion and Lila “tied the knot” at the dock of Hidden Oaks in Clyo, Georgia. What made the ceremony even more special was that her uncle was officiating the service. The day was filled with laugher with close friends and family. Slightly overcast, but perfect weather.

The night closed out with dancing, food and even more laughter. As a final surprise the couple shot fireworks revealing the gender of their baby. IT’S A GIRL! We can’t wait to welcome Miss Olivia Grace in April!

JHillis Photography wishes the newly, Mr. & Mrs. Loven a happy, long, and loving marriage. May you forever seek the spark that we see here.

Mr. & Mrs. Corbin

Sneak Peek: Mr. & Mrs. Corbin

JHillis Photography had the great honor and joy to take part in Cameron and Kayla’s special day. We first met the couple during their engagement session and were excited to see them tie the knot.

Cameron and Kayla chose the same site as their engagement pictures to be married. The Old Freeman Family Farm provided the perfect farm and barn wedding venue the couple were looking for.

A hurricane couldn’t keep these two from marring one another. And that is the TRUTH! The weather wasn’t the best, but it was their best day yet! The two said their vows in the top of the barn and danced the night away downstairs. The hurricane breeze was perfect addition to the September Georgia heat.

JHillis Photography wishes the newly, Mr. & Mrs. Corbin a happy, long, and loving marriage. May you forever seek the spark that we see here.

Prom: Mary Grace

Sneak Peek: Prom: Mary Grace

One thing that JHillis Photography would recommend is taking a little extra time out to get a few nice pictures of your kids before prom. That’s exactly what Mary Grace did and I don’t think she regrets it!

We met with Mary Grace about an hour before she was going to meet up with her friends. We were able to utilize River Street and Factors Walk in downtown Savannah. Her contemporary dress pops when it’s paired with the cold granite.

Book us for your prom needs!

The Roy Family: Maternity

Sneak Peek: The Roy Family: Maternity Session

We met Billy and Morgan Roy when they tied the knot, check that out here. Now they are about to welcome a new addition to their home, Baby Cameron!    I. CAN’T. WAIT!

I met up with these two for a few pictures of the bump at L Scott Still Park in Savannah. As your can see, great open spaces. You can tell that Morgan is extremely excited to begin this next chapter of her life with her hubby!

Congratulations on the soon-to-be addition to the Roy family!

The Mendoza Family: Maternity & Newborn

Sneak Peek: The Mendoza Family: Maternity & Newborn Session

JHillis Photography met up with Amanda, Tony and Liam as they prepared to welcome their new addition to the family, Eliana. I can’t tell you how excited Liam was to meet his sister and be a big brother. He assured me he was going to be a big help to his parents.

And I think he is upholding his promise! Their home that once was filled with trains and cars has expanded to big bows and a lot of pink. That’s not the only thing that has expanded. The love and excitement in their home is bursting at the seams!

It was such a honor to capture this family in their journey from a home of three into a family of four. Congratulations our your new addition and welcome to the family, Eliana!

A Cousin Christmas

Sneak Peek: The cousins are back at it again!

A lot can change in a year. It’s been four since we started getting together to take pictures as our grandparent’s Christmas gift. You can see last year’s post here. This year Billy and Morgan announced that they were pregnant with a little boy! Watch out, the family is growing!

It’s hard to get a good picture with a rambunctious four year old. Chase and Becca tied the knot in March, make sure you take a look. You can count on catching Drew at one of Savannah’s networking events, in a local show, or singing at the Cathedral.

This year was EXTRA cold and EXTRA windy! I don’t think that Joel and Vivilynn even noticed. But the reactions we received from our families were PRICELESS!

Joel Thomas Growing Up

Sneak Peek: Joel Thomas Growing Up

When our son was born on September 18th 2013, I decided I would take monthly pictures of him and document his first year of life in pictures. I had a fairly decent camera and we didn’t have the money for professional photographer each month. So early morning photo sessions became something Joel and I did.

I couldn’t just buy the cute stickers and pose him with a teddy bear; I went all out! Little did I know the task I was undertaking! Joel was an early riser, so each month I would wake up extra early, set up a mock studio in the living room, and take his pictures. Most of the time all before my wife Bailey got out of the bed.

I learned a lot about my camera as the months progressed. And learned a lot about Joel. We had to stop at times. There were times when we had to try another day. Wardrobe changes had to be made. Sometimes, only one picture looked half decent. I can say, with all the negative, I don’t regret taking the time to document this brief moment in his life.

Joel is four now and just started his first year of school. It’s harder to get him to be still, and I have to bribe him to take a picture. Having a kid of my own makes family pictures fun. I understand that sometimes you just have to stop and ask them how they want the picture to look. It’s okay to take a silly picture, they are always the one right before the perfect shot!
